Great subjects for photography, and a chance to hear some great music ...

Photographing musicians is one of the best jobs there is. Not only do you get to meet some lovely people, but you get to hear some great music. My recent session with the jazz trio Camino Sonoro was no exception.

Miguel (guitar), Hetty (vocals) and Stephanie (saxophone) play a stylish mixture of swing classics and up-tempo Latin American rhythms. They have named themselves Camino Sonoro - 'Path of Sound' - to encapsulate their diverse origins, Spanish and British, and their wide range of musical influences.
During the session the trio performed several takes of the well-known song, Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps. The English version of the hit, Quizás, quizás, quizás, by the Cuban songwriter, Osvaldo Farrés, it made the perfect soundtrack. In my photographs I wanted to capture the two sides of Camino Sonoro's personality: the sparkling function band and the more soulful jazz-club ensemble with Latin roots. I hope I succeeded.
